Farm Bi provides software — a mobile app and web portal — that farming and agribusiness operations use internally to capture and manage their own operational records. This policy explains what information Farm Bi collects, why, and how it's handled.
Who this applies to
Farm Bi is used by the staff and management of organizations that have signed up for the service — it is not a public consumer app, and it does not collect data from members of the public. If you use Farm Bi, it's because the organization you work for or with has an account and has invited you to use it.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and organization/role, used to sign you in and control what you can see and do within your organization's account.
- Operational records you or your organization enter: business data such as fuel purchases and dispensing, equipment/asset records, employee and supplier records, and — for feedlot operations — client, pen, recipe, livestock, and feed records. This data belongs to your organization and is used to run the features you use it for (recordkeeping, compliance, reporting).
- Photos: the mobile app can capture photos (e.g. of meter readings or delivery notes) as evidence attached to a specific record, only when you choose to take one.
- Location: the mobile app records GPS location automatically at the moment certain operational events (like fuel dispensing) are logged, so that record carries where it happened. Location is not tracked continuously or in the background.
Why we collect it
All of the above is collected to provide the core functionality of the app: letting your organization capture, store, and report on its own operational and compliance records (including South African SARS diesel rebate recordkeeping requirements, where applicable). We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
Farm Bi uses Supabase as its backend infrastructure provider, which stores this data on our behalf and processes it only to provide the service. We don't share your organization's data with any other third party, except where required by law.
Data retention
Data is retained for as long as your organization has an active account, since it forms part of your organization's own operational and compliance records. If your organization would like data deleted, contact us using the details below.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights under applicable data protection law (including South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act) to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. Since Farm Bi operates on behalf of your organization, please start by contacting your organization's administrator, or reach out to us directly using the details below.
